Okay, so I've now watched Farenheit 9/11, and it did what it was supposed to---got me very angry. But a lot of Moore's "facts" are disputed---so, to head off any BC defence, I'll avoid the controversial side of the film.

Whatever the rights or wrongs of the invasion/liberation of Iraq, it has cost dozens of British lives, at least 1000 American lives, and thousands of Iraqi lives. Having died for their country ("defending freedom" as Dubya calls it), the US troops are returned home well aware from the glare of cameras with little or no ceremony, and certainly without the commander in chief paying tribute to the sacrifice made by the fallen.

How many lives will it take before that smirking chimp begins to wonder about the high cost of his war? How many before his suppository, Blair, begins to regret getting us involved?

Ousting Saddam was a good thing, but at what price. If the operation in Iraq was to bring freedom and democracy to its people, when do we get our forces ready to invade Saudi Arabia?

(Utterly disgusted---with myself for believing Blair, with the cynicism of politicians who don't think twice before sacrificing troops for their own ambitions, and with the world in general.?

All right minded people thought the 'War' in Iraq was illegal, and maybe wrong, however once a country has committed itself to war, the people who enjoy the freedom that living in that country brings, should shut the fuck up.
Especially that pox faced moron 'Moore', who was enjoying the freedom that living in America brings, they should throw the cunt out, and give him a flat in Fallujah.

i saw on the telly one of the mothers of a British soldier killed in Iraq say "if they had fields full of carrotts and not oilfields in Iraq we wouldnt of invaded and my son would still be alive.freedom and democracy bollocks.when are we going to invade zimbabwe.lots of their old boys fought for us in the war but then again look at the contempt Blair has for our pensioners who saved this country 60 years ago

This question was not meant to be related to Moore. However, are you saying, Lizard, that it's a question of "my country right or wrong" whenever war is declared? That once we are involved in hostilities we should not dare criticise our leaders or how the war is being conducted? That doesn't sound like you.

I have a conscience---a bloody awful one, that doesn't let me forget even slight transgressions. As a result of that, I'm pretty sure I'd suffer sleepless nights, depression and probably suicidal thoughts if any action or decision of mine cost other people their lives. How can Blair, Bush and all the other power-seekers the world over sleep at night?

Oh, and don't forget to watch part two of The Power Of Nightmares on BBC2 at 9 tonight.

Whether or not it was about oil is still being deliberated by the jury. What is true is that weapons companies have done very well out of it. CEOs will be earning huge bonuses while low-paid grunts are risking their lives.

You already know my views on Kerry, so there's little or no point in bringing him into the argument. Bush Jnr is a clown, but Kerry is a vacuum. I'd like to know who's orchestrating the policy, because it sure as hell isn't the marionette Dubya. Possibly dad is keeping his hands on the rudder; certainly his old chums Donald and Dick are in play.

Let's take a step back: if the Soviet Union invaded a country to ensure the people were free to enjoy a Communist system, there'd have been an outcry---and rightly so. I don't like the governments of Zimbabwe, numerous tinpot dictactorships in South America and some African states, several of the former Soviet republics, North Korea, China (I could go on and on). That doesn't give me the right to go into any of those sovereign states and change them.
