Michael Moore's reaction to 4 more years of Bush

Post by Illinoisblue »

Anyone else on Moore's email mailing list?

Just got his latest message with 'First thoughts about the Election' in the subject header.

There then follows the 1000+ names of all the American service personnel killed in Iraq.

We've just lost three members of the Black Watch, along with an Iraqi translator, the day after they began patrolling the area vacated by the Americans---in what was, obviously, a non-political, completely military decision.

I hope Geoff "Shite the bed" Hoon and his owner, Tony "terror" Blair, can sleep at night.

What? People are still being killed in Iraq?

I could have sworn that I saw Dubya standing on an US aircraft carrier a few months back that was decked out with a massive 'Mission Accomplished' banner.

While not wishing to make light of the US soldiers killed in Iraq, note the
following:

Each year in the USA about 25,000 people are murdered by other americans.

Each year in the USA about 40,000 people are killed in automobile accidents.

Each year in the USA about 30,000 people commit suicide.

Over 100,000 civilians have been killed in Iraq since US invaded, over
half women and children (not all by US troops of course).

(these figures have been gleaned from the internet and are very rough
based on information I could find)

From a political perspective, he's probably disappointed.

From a business perspective, he's probably delighted.

I think Moore's next subject for a film is going to be the big drug companies. Apparently Pfizer (?) are already warning employees not to speak to Moore or anyone working for him.

And Guilbert, I'm not quite sure what relevance some of your figures have; people dying in car crashes and those who commit suicide? Not seeing the connection to what happens in a war situation.

I still do a double take when I see "liberal" used as a term of abuse.

Ever read "The Ugly American" Bimmercat? Another war your country made a real mess of.

Good job he wasn't around in 1944 when Roosevelt got re-elected. He'd have had a big job there.
