Thanks Deuce. I installed the free trial version of Xsoft and it told me I had a very large number of infections. Of course I could get rid of them by buying the Prof. version. I smelt a rat because I regularly check using Spybot and AdAware and had found a few and cleaned them out.

I've used that and a couple of the others tested with results worse than when I started

As its says on page 3 try the freebies with a track record adaware & spybot and only then if the problem still persists try the commercial program the only one to detect and remove all the nasties in the test
