Anti-Virus programs are software which invariably will cause problems/conflicts on someones computer even those with the same OS
Every known name has a list of so called horror stories
For the record I use Norton and manually update every Monday
I'm not paranoid about becoming infected but I do take precautions like not keeping anyones email in an address book which a worm could access
