"Illegal war...illegal war...blah blah...same old shite."
You started the thread - what do you expect.
"Seriously...if we had found WMDs on the first day in Iraq, the rest of you would STILL be whining."
Well the big problem is that you didn't find any WMD on the first day - so you've no evidence to support your bizarre thesis. Still - complete lack of evidence is clearly something that doesn't bother you too much.
"I notice everyone is damn quiet on the news that came out on the UN Oil-for-Food programme...still think the UN is golden and we should bow down to them? You go right ahead..I think they stink to high heaven."
I am quite prepared to criticise the UN on this point if there is evidence that the organisation, rather than certain individuals, behaved badly in this matter. But the available evidence is only partial and contadictory. There is no need to "bow down" to the UN on any issue - but to criticise the UN because it did not blindly capitulate to the US policy on Iraq - or accept Colin Powells crock of shite re WMDs - is a nonesense.
"Theres no winning...no matter what we do...so we might as well do as we please, foreign policy-wise and fuck everyone else. The rest of the world will BITCH and BITCH no matter what we do or if Bush or Kerry or if Gore had done it."
Correct - if any US leader, backed by any UK leader, had launched this idiotic adventure then it would be opposed. And how unusual to hear a US opinion of "fuck everyone else". It is clearly untrue to suggest that all US foreign poloicy initiatives are met with knee-jerk condemnation - look at the universal support you got for the Afghanistan invasion.
"WHY is nobody calling this a WMD find?"
Because its an unverified single source of an unanalysed material of something that is probably a defunct remnant of what we knew Saddam had 20 years ago. It is nothing like evidence of an ongoing WMD programme in Iraq that was used as the the justificastion for invasion.
"Isn't that what Saddam gassed his own people with years ago?"
But he was America's friend then so it was OK.
"well...I'd say 40 vials of Serin gas in a box counts."
And in your desperation to justify your country's noble crusade you would be wrong - again.
"My question: why is this not an important find?"
Your question should be - if this is an important find, should I be worried that my country's actions have transferred weapons from a brutal but stable and entirely constrained and hamstrung regime to various fanatical extremist groups? In what way does this weapons transfer to terrorist groups aid my country's battle in the "war against terror".
If you're seeking a "conspiracy" as to why this information has been "repressed" then think about how bad it would be for the US if the invasion has resulted in the transfer of genuine WMDs from Saddam to Al-Q.
But there is no such conspiracy required in this instance - to promote this particular "find" as evidence of WMDs simply shows a desperate mindset.
Are these WMDs?
