I disagree. I think Flintoff is a better batter than bowler. He can do both but he bowls that annoying back of length too often for me and is always trying to work the batsman over.

He is though a very destructive batsman and you WILL find that out.

As for Bangladesh then they shouldn't have test status and the stats that some players rack up against them are meaningless.

As for the Kiwis then what happened last night was coming I think. They haven't got a quick bowler of test class. Kyle Mills is shite, Chris Martin should stick to Cold Play and shagging Gwyneth and Jacob Oram is only average.

Anytime Bunny McGrath can get 50 against you then you know you're in trouble.

The Ashes next summer will be the best for a while.

Can England win it? Most definitely.

Will they win it? I'm not sure.

I still believe the aussies hold the edge but England do have 2 world class performers and match winners in Harmy and Freddie and we've not had that for years. If one of the batsman can make the step up from being a good playe to a very good player then that could tip the scales.

The end is approaching for this Aussie team with players like Langer, Hayden, Martyn, Lehman, Warne and McGrath all either in their mid 30's or about to hit them so they will be knocked off sometime.

I for one believe that it will happen in Australia in 2 years time and not England next summer.

Well the Kiwis started off well, but then went downhill once they got on to field to bowl. It was Jason Gillespie who got his first test 50 to push the score up in the high 500's mark, putting presure back on the Kiwis who folded to easy for 76 all out 2nd innings giving Warne & McGrath to bag more wickets!!

I don't know if you saw the morning session on the 4th day but the Kiwis were a beaten team before they came out to bat.

During the last rites of the McGrath/Gillespie partnership they had two really good shouts to get them out but there was barely a murmur from them for an appeal.

Shoulders were slumped in the field too and the general body language was one of a well beaten team.

The fact that they got bowled out cheaply was not a suprise considering their attitude.

you have to add Vaughan to that list of world class players, he just needs to come out of this dip in form, plus he like playing the aussies.
We really need Trescothick to have a good series as so far the aussies have found him out, Strauss will need a good series too if we are to have any chance

we are Leeds.... , and we can still beat the mighty Chester

Seems I spoke to soon....another team that can play good cricket for a couple of days before falling apart and looking more like a d-grade district team

Think I'll just pass on any more cricket for ever

At least to the current crop of unbeatables has retired

The fact that Mc grath a dead set batting bunny never had to defend a yorker in his whole innings says a lot about the Kiwi bowlers
They were obviously still away with the pixies after the clarke/gilchrist demolition job

cheers

McGrath found out Trescothick with the same plan he has for Lara. Bowl him 4 or 5 straight balls and then let him have a wider one to have a fish at and like Lara he can't resist.

A case of a strength becoming a weakness.

Vaughn is class but not quite what he was but all the batters will have to join the party if we are to be successful against the convicts.

Not away with the pixies. Just not good enough. I've never seen a team display so much negative body language as the Kiwis did.

As for the "unbeatables" then every era comes to an end and as I said in a previous thread that the end is around the corner for this Australian team as there's too many mid 30's guys and most of those are key elements in it.

I genuinely believe that if England can find maybe one or two players or a couple can make the next step then we can dethrone them.

I'm just not convinced that it will be next summer for the changing of the guard.
