This is almost an impossible question Arnie....it surely depends on your mood at the time of compiling the list. As a starter for ten though, my top 5 would be:-

1 - U2 - Bad......simply awesome about heroin overdose

2 - Stone Roses - Love Spreads.....fantastic song to 'rock out to'.

3 - Elton John - Your Song.....as romantic as it gets lyrically

4 - Massive Attack - Protection....simply listen, inhale, and chill out

5 - Prince - Sign o the times...scarily ahead of its time (1987).

1) Live Forever-Oasis
2) Strange Town- The Jam
3) English Civil War-The Clash
4) Basket Case-Green Day
5) Ashes to Ashes-David Bowie

Could go on forever but that's a start and a bloody good one too.

Fucking hell son. Spot on with some of those.

1: Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
2: Purple Rain - Prince
3: Sultans of Swing & Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits
4: Layla - Clapton
5: Running With The Devil - Van Halen

I do like Nothing Else Matters but it wouldn't be at the top. I'd probably put Enter Sandman above it.

I'm trying no to let the guitar get in the way of the song, but more me, a good guitar solo can really work a song.
I'll probably change my mind in 3 posts time but fuck it.

Fender til I die.

Still.....Holden MacGroyn

BUT WITHOUT MY BRUCE LEE SIG BECAUSE HE'S TOO HARD FOR THIS PLACE...

now i'm thinking....

whiteroom / cream
gloria / patti smith
c'mon billy / pj harvey
teardrop / massive attack
court of the crimson king / king crimson

obviously its entirely impossible, but its great fun just thinking of worthy toons....
