Charity begins at home.
Re: Charity begins at home.
Could it be that a minister is called a shepherd and his parishioners the flock because it's his job to fleece them?
Really don't understand how the poorest people are often the ones who pay so much to their "spiritual" guides. The poor folk of the bible belt in the States see the televangelists a-yellin' and a-savin' and a-cryin' to you, O Lord---in their expensive suits, with their expensive haircuts, their sunbed tans, and dripping in bling-bling---and still they give and feel they are right to do so.
I'm an atheist and I'm more of a christian than half of those c**ts.
Being supported in part by the community is one thing, but sucking the blood out of it is just obscene.

Organised Religion has a lot to answer for
The wealth that those institutions hold is beyond belief when you consider the amount of their followers living in poverty through out the world
The responsibility that goes with having absolute power over a congregation seems to be beyond quite a few in this position
It always amazes me how priests are seen as above reproach but very often fall way short of the mark...Human fallibility?
cheers

Re: Charity begins at home.
Hopefully its just a generational thing and when this generation with all its sexuall deviants disappears who knows what might appear
I see little point in parishioners giving donations & bequeathments for the money just to be spent buying more property. It serves no purpose
Some of the stories coming out from OZ where migrants(greek & russian) have set up/built their Own Churches with no help from the original overseas base and are now being told by these organisations that they must now hand over all the assets because they are illegal, makes the stomache churn
Organised religion is all about MONEY
I've heard priests actually telling parishioners sorry I'm unavailable now as I only work 9-5...believe it or not
cheers

Re: Charity begins at home.
The other thing that pisses me off about this particular scam is that most if not all of those church members are Pacific islanders, many of whom are drawing benefit. A lot of that is sent back to their families and they are tithed to their NZ church.
And I'm a NZ taxpayer. Its my fucking money.
