you would have thought in Wiltshire they would have been able to find a shepherd with some sheep dogs, or a vet with a dart gun

What a total overeaction by the boys in blue, a wild, ferocious, out of control sheep can obviously cause carnage on an unprecedented scale. They obviously couldn't run to a bucket of nosh & a bit of rope!
No mention of danger posed to the the public by the urban cowboys discharging a firearm in a public place.
I wonder what's next, Stray dogs, urban foxes, errant cyclists or unruly school bus queues? The latter being far more dangerous to public safety than some scabby sheep!
So don't wander the byeways of Wiltshire looking lost, bewildered & unwelcome, an ARV could be heading for you!
