1940's-60's hardcore photos

Post by sid »

ive been offered some 40's, 50's and 60's B/W hardcore photos about 200 of them all a bit dog eared but some of them very good and part of a series. Is there a market for these things, could they be made into a book ? Are they worthless and not worrying about...surely someone here should know.

You could also try asking on alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.vintage

There are definitely (even respectable) collectors around, although I don't think the 'Antiques Roadshow' is ready for this sort of stuff just yet........
But you might hawk them round your local Sothebys/Christies etc: if they're not interested, they should at least be able to give you some contacts.

The Erotic Review might be a good starting point. Sorry, I can't give you any details about addresses, phones or web sites, but you should be able to get some info on how to find them. It's a mag that seems to be trying to make porn "naughty" rather than "disgusting" and from what I've seen they seem to be doing a reasonable job. Worth a look, anyway.

Regardless of the age of the pictures, you still have to consider who owns the copyright on them. Also, are the pictures being sold with the permission and knowledge of the people in the pictures.
I was offered something similar recently, and asked one of the magazines if they would be interested in them. They told me that without out the correct paperwork (model releases) they couldn't use them, because it would leave them open to legal action.

If you are not really gonna miss the cash you would pay for them and you want them, go for it for the collection.

Potential buyer? Well I guess they could be as much use as a wheel trim you found in the road for a 1988 Peugeot 405. Unless you happen to meet a 1988 Peugeot 405 owner missing a wheel trim?
