Indian Ocean .More drivel from Gods followers
In the Telegraph today the Archbishop of Canterbury accepts that people will question their faith after the disaster ..but he goes on to say that it will make their faith stronger by caring for those left behind..well thats alright then..the supreme arrogance of the theists ...I despise you all!!

I notice that whilst the god botherers were shouting their mouths off about the Showing of Harry Potter on xmas day, banging on about witchcraft and the dark arts etc, they were remarkable quiet on explaining why God, (who loves everyone) should cause this to happen.
We have need of you again, great king.

Jeremy Clarkson (who is someone I never thought I'd find myself in agreement with) made much the same point in his column in The Scum the other day.
The few times I've visited church in the last ten years (weddings, christenings, funerals), I've been amazed at the amount of bollocks the priest/minister/vicar can talk and get away with. Particularly bad are the eulogies they give at funerals of people they didn't know.

If God exists and I very much doubt it,but if he did
I'd guess he's pissed off with Mankind
We seem to be the only living entitiy that has the capacity to bring about the extinction of other species and are doing so at an alarming rate
cheers

Am I the only person who is sickened by the constant demands for our own personal donations?
Generosity is one thing, but the average working person (including many of us) probably gives away, in one tax or another (directly and indirectly) 80% of their income anyway - and where the hell does this all go???
There have been disasters on this scale since the dawn of time, and the answers lie in geography and geology, not any of the many churches of the world.
Archbishops and other religious careerists are obviously going to talk crap about this - their whole lives are based around lies and denial of the natural truth.

80%? Where do you get that figure from?

Just a guess, Mart, pick it to bits if you want.
An educated guess though when you consider income tax, national insurance, bank account interest tax, road tax, fuel tax, tax on booze & cigs (all part of the coffers), stamp duty, council tax (a cool 9% of my take-home pay), even "insurance premium tax" for f**ks sake!, plus the all-encompassing VAT on almost eveything one buys with the money we have left. Think about it. And then we have to pay our rent/mortgage.
There are probably loads of other stealth taxes I haven't even thought of...

No one's making demands for contributions. It's up to the individual whether or not they want to give.

I've always wondered how on earth the world survived for however millions of years before man came along.
And then wondered how on earth they suvived for so many countless generations until some bright spark managed to start comunicating with others.
And then wondered how they still survived so long for countless more generations until another bright spark thought up religion (nothing to do with a novel way to get wealth & power, of course, he obviously had a vision sent from a greater power).
And now we have had organized religion for a few thousand years, a tiny fraction of the time the world has been here, all the worlds ills are blamed on God or followers of different faiths (fudamentalists of various seperate idiologies).
And then of course there's the rest of the living things on the planet (plants, animals, fish, birds, insects, bacteria etc. etc.). How have they survived for so long without worshipping an almighty superior being.
Go figure

mmm, perhaps "demands" was too strong a word, but you can't deny the media are ramming it down our throats. The real onus should be on the multi-nationals that milk that region for all it's worth
