Enter The Dragon Box Set

Post by Ace »

Just saw this double Box Set of the classic film and a new 96 minute Game of Death original footage. Pretty good at ?17.99, BUT is it a re-hash of other Bruce Lee stuff out there or is it worth having?
One for Holden I think

If it looks like this;

I suggest you get it Ace.

The ETD version is the 25th Anv. Edition.
There's a new 2 disc 30th Anniversary Edition with a few new documentaries and some rare on set private stuff from Ahna Capri who played the Madame.
The new 2 disc version is about ?20 and unless you're a die hard fan, isn't worth the extra,

Warriors Journey was shown in a brutally cut form on Channel 5 with a voiceover by some real gay sounding dude.
The one in the boxset is the full version by John Little.
It has the complete story to Game of Death and is fuck all to do with that shite that Golden Harvest put out in '78.

It also has an edit of the final fight that is about 28 minutes in length and is made up of footage that was "lost" in the Golden Harvest vaults for over 25 years.

It is well worth it Ace just to get a glimpse of what should have been, plus it contains Lee stuff that you would never have seen elsewhere.

The HKL (Hong Kong Legends) version of Game of Death is good as it also has an alternate edit of the final fight made up of some different takes and angles.
The one on the HKL disc is also referred to as the Artport G.O.D.

Both, HKL & Warriors Journey are must haves.
The difference is, Warriors Journey is not a film but a very good documentary but with the full final fight intact.

The ETD disc is a flipper disc (film one one side, doc's on the other) and is presented in true widescreen. Perfect picture quality and sound.

Get it and you'll be a happy man.

There's another ETD box set out there which has reproduction lobby cards, soundtrack, film cell and a whole heap of other stuff, but unless you're a Lee fan, it's not worth the money.

Still.....Holden MacGroyn

Just got it, its called ETD and its a 2 disc set in a slip case.
Disc 1 - Feature length commentary by producer Paul Heller, 3 docu's, the all new Blood and steel, making of ETD, John Littles personal profile of Bruce, original featurette, interview gallery featuring Linda Lee, vintage home movies of Backyard workout with Bruce
Disc 2 - George Takei (Star Trek Mr Sulu?) narrates examination of Bruce legacy, Bruce Lee - Curse of the Dragon (83 mins), John Littles biography, Warriors Journey featuring Bruces intended cut of Game of Death (96 mins) and multiple theatre trailers and TV spots.
Its dated 2001, so naughty ASDA for highlighting as 'JUST IN!!!'
I have the C5 show, so I don't expect to see anything new, but well worth it to see GoD
Thanks for the info Holden

That is the new one Ace.
Even though it may say 2001 it has only recently been released over here.
Last 4/5 months perhaps.

It's a good collection of stuff.

Curse of The Dragon is worth it alone as it's one of the few good documentaries on Lee.

I'll get it off of eBay for a tenner if I get the urge.
I already have most of the stuff on the discs as parts of other sets.

The only thing that's really new is Ahna Capri's footage of Bruce Lee from the set of ETD.

There'll be another version out in a few years as she held onto shit loads of her footage.

Milking a dead cow.
