After watching yesterdays dire episode of Trisha titled "Sex Addicts", I was left a little confused by the subsequent posts left on this forum.

It seemed to be a self-back slapping exercise for just appearing on a show with no real moralist attempt to offer a balanced argument or solution! It was titled sex addicts, but these people clearly have a small barometer of addiction or have not heard of Kelly Stafford!

Back to my point. "How did it help the UK Porn industry???? Answer: It didn't!!

How could it of? it didn't really mention it!!!
OK Violet got here tits out! big deal! It was a very lame attempt to pop your head over the wall and stand up for your views.

The post also mentioned that the Irish guy was a stooge!! Surely that takes the piss out of the whole discussion???

People of this forum help the UK porn industry 100 times more than any show like Trisha can. Why not get on Question Time and have a real debate about it?

As for doing Ruby Wax. that's just playing into the hands of the Conservative members of our population, because you know it's not going to be heard through a balanced medium.

Violet. I buy your films and enjoy them very much. Phil. I enjoy your filmmaking and always have done. Remington is a star and produces some of the best films on the market. Marcus. your films are also excellent and provide us with hours of fun. Ben. well you're just Ben!!! (in a very good way!)

But come on! is this form of marketing really helping us move forward with breaking down the barriers of our social rights???

this was a chance wasted,a chance to show people who know nothing about the porn industry in this country that it is legit.but all the show really was about was self promotion that most odious media phemomena.

i was not surpised by the reaction of people on the forum but it continues to dissapoint me it seems the cult of personality has taken over.

the show was nothing new nothing shocking and the format is done better by yanks,bit like the porn industry really.compare it to the c5 sex and shopping prog last night and you will see the gulf we have to cross to make porn acceptable in this country.

i feel the philistines have robbed the genre or its aesthetic values and revolutionary potential for a quick buck and a warhol 15 minutes.

nothing wrong with making money but please don't confuse yourselves with crusaders for free speech and porn rights

Did you really think for one second that an episode of Trisha would offer an informed debate about pornography, sex, or any subject at all?

The audience is a bussed-in assortment of idle students, single parents and retarded OAPS.

Taking its lead from Jerry Springer, Trisha is the very worst of exploitative television. Build the guests up as good/bad then get the fuckwitted audience to clap/boo at the appropriate moment.

Every tv's got an off button - use it!

Well said, both of you. One query - surely you didn't mean to use an upper case C in conservative when referring to Ruby Was, did you, Stir Fry Master? It sort of confuses things, seeing that the lady (?) has done a heap of work, behind the scenes, for our glorious leader.

..the trouble is, so very few people do.
At the moment, the choice is to appear either on a circus such as 'Trisha' where there is no attempt at serious debate, or on one of the Docs where the slant is always that of Grauniad Fems.
Either way, the result is the same: a laughing stock.
The Industry might benefit more from its wealthier members taking a leaf out of other industries' books and lobbying politicians with the (surely obvious) point that it is very lucrative. And where there's money, there's power.

I only watched it because of an earlier post on the forum outlining the subject matter. I'm aware of the tv off button, as I used it 15 minutes before the end of the program.

To say no to ant opportunity to get TV is madness. They biggest change in the UK is in ordinary peoples want for sex related matter. Vid's mags or newspapers even internet. the more we all go on ant shows, shows its ok to wank, i do. Sometimes the forum runs away with the true message" we are all guys and girls who supply or buy or collect Wank material", show me somone who does not and I'd be a bit worried.
If anyone thinks I am some marter they are wrong I have been in this business a long time and thats it I would like more shops so I can sell them product, if the law changes great but in the mean time we must survive. The negative posters will all be able to air their views at the BBFC's meeting regarding 18R and safe sex. What do you meen they are not invited. No they won't speak up because they have no real opinion. Opinions are like respect it's earned. You earn opinions by having a valid point.
Sazuma is as everyone knows it a dick with a serious inferiority problem hence he can't like myself post my address on everything even my tel no is common knowlege. So in some respects I am a big guy, because I do take the challange I have just agreed to help big time with some shops in Notingham that had some problems, to keep them open.
Most of the guys/girls on the forum are top class and I know cause I have met loads. Thankyou again for your support,
