teacher question

just read a piece in the paper about two teachers caught having sex in a school gym. it states that one of the teachers is a "travel and tourism teacher", can someone enlighten me as to what this means, never had one of these when i was at school!

Sounds like one of those easy option non-subjects designed to artificially get school league table points.

I think they're usually in colleges of further education, training people to work in travel agencies. They've been around quite a long time.
