Cherie Blair makes ultimate slip up in NZ speech
09 February 2005
You can call us a lot of things. But not Aussies. Cherie Blair, wife of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, opened her Australasian speaking tour on Monday night with a spectacular gaffe, forgetting which country she was in.
Its also alleged that she's getting a very fat fee for speaking at these fund-raising dinners.

Fat Fergie also got ?15,000 for 'modelling' a dress at a New York fashion show. Well I suppose women who look like pigs need some compensation.
Re: Cherie Go home !!!!
Didn't she go overboard with a "free" trip in some stores last year? She really is, like her saintly husband, a moral paragon.

Re: Cherie's fundraiser
This the latest:
" Maurice Henderson, the executive officer of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Research Foundation in the city [Adelaide], said that his charity had been left ?75,000 short of its fundraising target at a banquet staged by the organiser of Mrs Blair?s tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Henderson said: ?I don?t think people who go to these events realise how little of what they are paying is actually going to the charity. If you are going along, pay by cheque and write it out to the charity ? at least the charity can then control what?s happening.?
Mr Henderson?s 2003 charity banquet, hosted by Rudolph Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York, was organised by Max Markson, the PR guru behind the current tour by the Prime Minister?s wife.
Mr Markson is said to have set a target of ?84,000 for the hospital from Mr Giuliani?s lecture tour.
In the event, the hospital received just ?1,500, which later increased to ?8,000 after complaints from the charity. Mr Giuliani received ?130,000. Mr Markson was unavailable for comment yesterday."
But of course we must bear in mind that the bloody Blairs have got a very feckin big mortgage to keep servicing.
Bastards.
