I agree mostly with chatterji's views. okay what she did might have been a great individual achievement and it took courage bravery etc....
but my main thought when she was all over the news the other day was...

..who cares?? sure if you're into sailing it might be of interest, but someone sailed around the world on her own...big deal.

I've met McArthur, and found her one of the coldest, blandest people I've ever met, not at all friendly. I suppose she prefers her own company to that of others. She can take her 'boat' if you can call it a boat, and spend the rest of her life sailing round the world for all I care, I just don't want to have to sit through a whole day's worth of news reports like something significant (ie, tsunami, 9/11) has happened.

At least Richard Branson has a bit of personality...
