Searchers - another obscure drummer dies !

Chris Curtis, drummer (and leader) of the '60s band the Searchers,
has died.

Excellent band at the time, had hits with Sweets for my Sweets,
Needles and Pins and others. Three of their first 4 singles went
to Number 1.

Could be argued that the "jangly" 12 string guitar sound influenced
groups like the Byrds.

Saw it in today's Daily Telegraph obituary column.

Chris died on Monday.
