For the last 20 years I've worked my ass off(limiting myself to 2 holidays)

Then I got a package of 3 years wages at age 35..I accepted...that on top of my accumulated savings equated to a rest to age 50 if I let it go

MY middle class neighbours constantly bombarded me with "Don't give up"
to which I replied 'What For".

Why do people of what ever persuasion pass judgement on others by what they do or don't do?

I'm sure most of these hard working middle class working families would feel affronted if I pointed out to them that their kids did drugs and thought they were out of date morons but as they paid the rent they were OK

If thats an isolated case I'm an eskimo

I'm in a similar position, paid off and glad to go. I don't need to work to get by ok, but I no what you mean, everybody says "what do you do" - and I say "nothing", to which always comes the same stock reply "you can't stop working at your age". Well I can and I'll be on the beach come the next winter while they're locked in an office and working their bollocks off.

Rejoice Deuce. I was offered early retirement at 54. People asked "What will you do? Get another job....etc...etc.....".
No regrets, and I'm still enjoying my life of leisure.
What pisses me off (but why should I care) is all those people (and ads.) who go on about how buzy they are.
