It it just me, or is anybody else out there livid at this totally ludicrous ruling?

She's a bloody child for Christ's sake attending a school where no other student has any problems with the uniform. But she, being a rebellious teenager, feels the need the challenge things. Alas, we now have this unnecessary and expensive human 'right's act which give silly people the right to waste our, yes OUR money, arguing trivial points.
Schools should have the right to decide on a uniform. Don't like the idea of a uniform, don't go there. Catholic schools impregnate kids with the holy Catholic faith. Don't want that, then don't go there. Same argument applies here. This silly little cow could have got an education elsewhere, but chose to let human 'rights' lawyers make a lot of money. The said silly little cow has since left that school I gather......

Now it gets political. We didn't have this Human 'rights' act until this bastard labour government got in. It argued we needed it. (I don't know of anyone who's rights were infringed before it though.....). This pathetic schoolgirl's barrister was one Cherie Booth, currently making a bomb out of such cases. Guess who she's married to..... one Anthony Blair, PM of the govt that brought in the sodding bit of legislation.

Personally, I think "the silly little girl" should have been allowed to wear her "silly traditional dress."
It's hardly worth a silly little school losing it's silly little shit over.

When I was a kid, no school gave a fuck if a Muslim girl wore her respective clothing, as long as it matched the school colours.

I think the school system is a load of fucking cock and so is the lame attitude that has suddenly felt the need to dictate.

I think she should be able to wear whatever she wants for school - uniforms are redundant and should be consigned to the dustbin, as is the case in most European countries. But on the other hand some schools ump on the PC bandwagon because they fear criticism if they don't - in Holland children have been asked (ordered) not to put the Dutch flag on their backpacks because it's upsetting the Moroccan children and is seen as a racist symbol. well if it upsets them, too bad - it's the national flag.

I think the biggest danger about being too pc is this is encouraging the "them and us" philosophy

I personally dont think the term "ethnic minority" is really applicable in this country anymore - I have lots of indian friends and certainly dont consider them to be any different from me, and they likewise from their perspective. The true "minority", I hope anyway, is the british people with the "fuck off back where you came from" attitude, I think its one of the things we should take pride in about being a brit, (be you of indian origin or british!!)
