US postal are no more, I think its something like the Discovery Channel as his main sponsor. The Pirate (not John Mason who is the gay Pirate) was an unnatural talent, hence is early demise in an hotel room. Big Mig done 5 over 6 so Lance has the edge there.

I don't really feel that you can compare two hugely good cyclists.

The Big Mig didn't have cancer rip through almost his entire body like Lance and Lance doesn't have the depth of competition that The Mig was up against.

The Mig was the nuts during his time and Lance is the nuts now. Lack of competition or not I would like to see anyone ride the tour 6 times in a row and win everytime.

I hope he makes it 7 because the man is a genuine Idol unlike the majority of footballing "Idols" we have here who can't seem to behave anywhere and get as much money for it as possible

Lance put's his money where his mouth is.

We are all forgetting that Lance has been up against the French Press, they've been accusing him of drug use for use which have been negative each time.

Come on Armstrong would have kicked Indurain's arse.

The level of opposition that both have come up against isn't great but all Indurain ever did was sit and cover the moves in the mountains and win the tour in the time trials.

Armstrong is as good a time trialist as Indurain but gets off his arse in the mountains and does more than cover. He tries to win those stages and put distance between himself and his opponents. Indurain just marked time there.

It's debateable but the other Yank might have won a few more but for that infamous shooting incident.

Which brings me to become nostalgic. Lomond catching Fignon on the Champs Elysee is still one of the all time great sporting moments (and probably the reason why a time trial has never been on the last stage since as I'm sure the French didn't take too kindly to their mans demise).

Lemond and Fignon, the year I went on a works piss-up to Weymouth and didn't set the video. They say Fignon's time loss to Lemod was down to his pony tail and lack of aero helmet.

Mind you a piss up to Weymouth on a nice sunny summers afternoon wouldn't have been bad hey?

The last time I was there it was top class pussy everywhere.

The only place I've come accross that's better is Bournemouth. It must be something in the Dorset water.

PS From memory areo dynamics then weren't as big as they are now. I don't recall Lemond wearing one either. I maybe wrong though as it is nearly 20 years back and my memory aint what it used to be.

Lemond in his time was big on aerodynamics, he spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel testing.
