The number of truly memorable songs that get played to death and become as annoying as the cheap jingles that seem to always go to number 1 are too numerous to name

I've always liked The Eagles,Fleetwood Mac & Australias Cold Chisel but if I hear any of their seventies/eighties classics I just turn off.Saturation is a killer

If I had a dollar for eveytime I've heard Lynyrd Skynyrds "Sweet Home Alabama" I'd be beyond rich

Seems to me Radio Stations that are aiming for that "disgrunteld with todays music middle age audience" can't get past the staple diet of yesteryears top 40 hit parade.I'm sure the artists are just as peeved off that a year spent in the studio crafting an album is only remembered by what got into the charts

One radio station used to play classic albums which was a great idea but sadly ratings said it wasn't and it was back to the Top 40 Bilge from yesteryear

cheers

Classic songs that are truly brilliant always get flogged to death, so new listeners will appreiate them whilst fans soon tire of certain gems.
Stairway to Heaven and Freebird are 2 I would put into these catagories.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

How mnay versions of "Georgia" 20 +

I still don't get why good album songs never seem to see the light of day
but being a cynic maybe the songs are only there to fill in the time between adverts
