Albums that left you flat!

Post by Ace »

No matter how many times I listen to it, 'Cut the Crap' a piss-poor offering from The Clash leaves me totally deflated. There are 2 tracks that are average at best, the rest is .....well, crap.*
Great Rock n Roll Swindle by Sex Pistols was another poor show, as was some of Springsteens offerings, notably Lucky Town and Ghost of Tom Joad.
Any other albums you'd nominate that never came close to reaching expectations after previous releases?

* This was the 1985 line up that didn't include Mick Jones or Topper Headon.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

Altho theres tracks on certain Pink Floyd albums, I'd have to go for David Gilmour's second solo album "About face" it's a bit embarrassing especially one of the promo video's which is almsot fucking disco, as for Rick Wright's & Nick Mason's solo albums never bothered.

"This one's for my man "T"...
& it's called Wish you were here"

From the Heights of Highway to Hell,Back in Black & For Those About to Rock
to the pathetic Flick of the Switch

If it wasn't made by a big band like AC/DC it would have been canned IMHO

cheers

I have to agree with you deuce, in fact I would say none of the albums after back in black were as good, most have a couple of good tracks but some mediocre stuff as well, but they are still one of the best live bands I have ever seen.

What a great topic!! My vote would have to be Heaven 17's How Men Are. After the brilliance of Penthouse & Pavement and The Luxury Gap (in my opinion anyway) this 3rd album was a major disappointment. I've only played it once since I've had it.

After producing some great stuff in the 80s and early 90s, Prince's Come LP was a big let-down.
