Gone With The Wind types are ONE offs...and should stay that way,it's when you get others trying to be clever and go the same marathon lengths.

The problem we have today is that cinema films are shown as just one feature,whereas years ago they had 2 movies on one programme,perhaps 65 mins B-movie and a 90 min A movie.(plus newsreel & trailers).

People want to have their monies worth,hence 2 hour plus & popcorn.In fact you had better value in the past for a 1/- (10p)

GWTW was voted the 'Best' movie ever with an estimated admissions of 35million.It also ran for 4-years throughout the war years non stop at the Ritz Cinema in Leicester Sq.(once under the Empire).

The trouble with those 2 movies you mentioned stems from the fact they are mostly generated from some young bods working with a computer down in Soho or elsewhere.They put them together like you would for play stations.Except with real humans...
