Hi all,
In common with my colleague Dave Cooke, i'm going to try and contribute and help you avid channel watchers enjoying your viewing of our channels as much as possible. My role is to deal with how the cable companies (ntl, Telewest and all the little ones, ITV Digital and Sky promote and market our channels. This includes how many freeviews they show, the listings info on screen and the pricing policies.
So please let me know if you spot any problems, or want any more info on the above or related topics.
Thanks
Alex

PS. Please still direct any programming inquiries towards Dave Cooke.

Alex
First thanks for your interest.
I watch via On-Digital and am very worried as to whether I will soon be able to get TAC at all!
Any comfort you can give me will be appreciated.
TAC is, I am told, part of playboy but playboy TV is not a channel offered by On-Digital. Can this be reviewed?
On a more general point I wish at the end of the programmes there were credits of the names of the participants. This happens so rarely for the TAC commissioned series that Big Jim and others shoot.
Regards
Frank

I watch via Telewest.
Even though you start programmes at 11pm from tomorrow, my cable guide still has a start time of midnight. Any chance you can lean on those responsible to start their broadcasting when your schedules commence.

Re: PBTV/TAC here to help you
And how about more listings in mainstream program guides - could't see any mention of TAC, or The Playboy Channel in my copy of 'The Daily Mail!'
But, jesting aside, why not spread the word far and wide? Most people on 'civi street' are unaware of your exsitence. Do you what to remain a minority channel?

Re: PBTV/TAC here to help you
I'm a Telewest Digital subscriber , so here are the relevant answers.
The monthly charge went up recently from ?8 to ?10, a 25% increase at a time when inflation is less than 3%. Increased costs etc was the excuse. Doubtless Telewests enormous debts are the real reason. Prices across the board rose at the same time, eg Sky Sports and Television X.
The Freeviews on TAC are at Midnight for 12 minutes and 1am for 5 minutes. Playboy i think is on each hour for 5 minutes. However, these Freeviews are a contradiction in terms, as you only get the Freeview if you are a subscriber. If you unsubscribe from any Channel it disappears completely, therefore you have no access to the Freeview. So people who are'nt TAC subscribers will have no idea as to the programmes TAC are showing. This applies to all Premium Channels and is obviously a complete nonsense from your point of view and that of the potential punter.
Also, since the clocks went forward, the programme guide for TAC no longer displays the programmes due on tonight , but those for tomorrow. Today is Tuesday, but the programme guide will only display what's on on Wednesday. This cock up only applies to the TAC.
Hope that's of help. Doubtless you'll be on the blower to Mr Telewest tomorrow with a few pertinent questions.Pleased you're taking an interest, Cheers, Wolfie.

Re: PBTV/TAC here to help you
Hi,
well to all of you who were watching TAC on ITV Digital, there is no more at present. We are looking at ways tro get the channel back onto DTT, but at present there is no immediate possibility.
However if you move to Sky from ITV Digital, we are looking at a special price promotion for you, more details will be available on the TAC website tomorrow.
The reason why Playboy TV was never on ITV Digital was simply because there wasn't enough bandwidth available from 8pm to 12, a situation that was out of our control.
Best

Re: PBTV/TAC here to help you
Very helpful Alex.
No doubt Sky will seduce On-Digital subscribers to move across, but many including me in blocks of flats on which sky dishes are a no-no cannot make that change.
I just hope Sky will pick up ondigital pieces from the liquidator and offer new look terrestrial digital as an alternative to those that cannot subscribe to Sky proper.

Re: PBTV/TAC here to help you
have you considered getting a block system installed - i.e. one where a single dish serves every flat. i organised this for my own block a couple of years ago.
the dish is discreetly placed up on the roof, rather than on the side, where those serving individual flats tend to be placed and it works fine.

Re: PBTV/TAC here to help you
Hi Wolfie,
In relation to your points, the fact that if you don't subscribe to a channel on Telewest Digital (and ntl aswell) means that it won't show up on your EPG is the most frustrating thing to us, and anyone who wants to subscribe to the channel.
With the introduction of new software to Telewest Digital over the next few weeks this will change so that you have all the channels available listed.
As far as the EPG info is concerned, i haven't got an f**king clue why it's wrong, it's okay on Sky, but they have obviously messed it up. First job on my list tomorrow, could you let me know when it gets corrected please?
Unfortunately the pricing policy is out of our control, i think when you have ?5.5bn of debt, you need to do whatever you can to bring in extra revenue!
Thanks
Alex
