Speeding ticket
Speeding ticket
I got a letter saying I was snapped doing 38 in a 30 zone and it is 'intended to prosecute'. Fair cop, but what's the worst that could happen...?
Re: Speeding ticket
3 or 6 points on the license and a fine.
Re: Speeding ticket
Unless it was in Derbyshire, in which case it,s 'Beheading', or75 years in chokey.

Re: Speeding ticket
WIll I have to go to court? What sort of fine is likely?
Re: Speeding ticket
Take every option they give you. Sometimes, if you ask for the pics to be sent as you want proof who was driving, they don't follow up. Happened to a friend of mine so its not just one of those stories.
We have need of you again, great king.
Re: Speeding ticket
I think Court is purely a threat at this stage. I reckon you'll get three points and a fine of less than a hundred quid. I've been done a few times but I can't remember the fine amount. Good luck!
Re: Speeding ticket
Also post everything back to them at the last possible date, 'forget' to sign forms - only send them your photo license, when they request paper counterpart, tell them you don't have it and they'll have to get you a new one issued etc etc. You can drag it out for so long and make it difficult for them and as has said there is a good chance they'll just drop it.
Re: Speeding ticket
Questa, your best pleading guilty, paying the fine, probably ?60, and 3 points, if you plead guilty, you wont go to court, you pays yer fine sends yer licence off, and get 3 points, then move on, good luck!

Re: Speeding ticket
If you just pay up and move on, you've let them win. I always find it more satisfying to cause them an administrative headache and even if you do get a bigger fine at the end of the day, it won't amount to the time/money they've wasted on your single case. And if everyone did that, the system would break down and they couldn't cope. They only operate with public compliance.
