US Military decorations.

Post by mart »

Look at the pic here (click on it for an enlargement)

She's a 22 yr.old reservist but she seems to have 3 rows of ribbons.
Is it true that they come in the boxes of breakfast cereal served in the mess halls?

Didn't you post something before, about you chatting on US forces' websites and the constant claims by people on them that they're veterans? What's this fascination with US personnel? You have to look extremely closely to see any of her ribbons and why would you, because who cares?

Most of the leaders of the British forces pick up gongs and titles galore. How many of them ever saw combat, and by combat I don't mean sitting in some communications' position 150 miles behind the lines? If you can award them stuff for 'masterminding' operations, you can reward other ranks for doing their jobs too: The potato-peeling star; the shit-slinger heart; the lorry driver cross with headlight clusters. Why not? It's all bollocks.

Personally, I wish I'd kept all my Scout badges. Now there were some hard-won ribbons. I was a PL as well. Oh the joy of command. Where are you all now, Hawk patrol?

Not worth a piss.
They give 'em for basic exercises, even training ones. I met a nice Yank who was made up as he'd been in a helecopter flying over enemy lines in a cease-fire in Kosovo, and got a medal for it.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've met the man on the street............and he's a cunt
