You could try - but you'll not get a job doing anything physical/manual as there are enough locals for that. They will only really take you in your trained profession to transfer skills to the locals. So you won't actually be retiring, just working for local wages in Africa/Asia.

Sort yourself out with a TEFL qualification, not a hope of even getting a job teaching without it.

Why not contact a few of the overseas aid organisations and ask them?

I'd imagine they'd only be after specific skilled workers like health professionals,Interpreters etc

Theres always Missionary work with a Church
Convert all those poor souls over to Porn
I can see you doing the John Cleese Sex Education Class as we speak
"No stampeding to the clitoris" ;-)

Then theres the Cult/Sect scene, just invest all your readies before they brainwash you ;-)

If your after Physical work with a possibility of camaraderie then backpacking your way around australia fruitpicking is an option
but trust me its hard yakka

Anyway you look at it,its likely to mean years of study to upskill
but you won't know until you contact them directly

cheers
