Hello everyone..
Done a search of the site and spent most of the night searching google but its been a nightmare of a task plodding though the rubbish...
Anyway I want to add a members only area to my website and to be honest I have no idea where to start..
I take it another agency takes over this job with billing and the issuing of username/passwords or can it be done be me.?
Does anyone have any good links where all this is explained in plain English so the novice can understand..
Or recommend a good billing companie.
Ive been looking at the CCbill website but cant figure out if they are what I need, or maybe im just too tired..
Any help would be appreciated..
R / Daryl
I have my domain, webhosting, POBox, and business account sorted, Website is currently being constructed, so the members area is now all I need to sort out..
Need info on setting up a members area..

You need to put all your members area stuff in a folder on your server (known as your "protected directory"). If using CCBill, you give them the URL to your members area, FTP info and they do the rest. You can also do it manually using .htaccess and add the user/passes via your .htpasswd file but you'll still need a biller of some kind to take payment.

Does anyone recommend a different service other than CCbill, I guess theres no decent British based services?

You said you already have a business account so have you explored the possibility of running transactions through that? We have a Lloydstsb merchant account which we run all the working capital through and with them we get access to online Card Transactions. We don?t sell any on line product so we haven?t used the feature but I would imagine they?d be competitive if you have the right account.
Anyway you might find this link of help

If any UK bank are willing to process for an adult based subscription site then good luck to you!
Not wanting to put a downer on anything... but if Paypal catch you proccessing for adult stuff, they'll shut your account down and keep any funds you had.
There TOS don't allow anything adult related anymore.
CCBill is unfortunately one of the very few options available to you.
