Dunno what all the fuss is about, If someone told me that a dodgy Russian Billionaire linked with Russian Mafia money was buying Chelsea 2 years ago, I would have shit myself. Turns out it was brilliant for the club.
If Man Utd fans want Man Utd THAT much, let them buy the shares like Glazier did.
Mind you, if they fold, I would have a wry smile all day..........and throughout the next season

Re: Man Utd Take Over
If anyone can find a billionaire that wants take Man Utd over i would not complain, Glazer is not rich he's had to borrow the money on the back of the clubs assets .

Re: Man Utd Take Over
what's all the fuss about? well...
abramovich took on a club that was up to it's neck in debt, paid off what was owed, and proceeded to invest a 100 odd million pounds in new talent.
glazer has loaded up a club that owed nobody anything with half a billion pounds worth of debt and is promising to make available 20 million pounds a season for the purchasing of new players. wigan will be spending 25 million this summer...
over the last financial year united made a profit in the region of 20 million pounds. annual interest payments alone on glazer's newly acquired debt mountain will be in the region of 40 million...
there's many a slip, though and this development may be worth keeping an eye on. as might this...

Re: Man Utd Take Over
I've got no sympathy for the club or the supporters personally.
As a club then they always embraced big business and corporate stuff and how many times have supporters from other clubs been annoyed by "united" fans who have waxed lyrical about how much money they make and have rabbled on about how "united" are the richest club in the world blah blah (boring) blah.
It was fine for them when the money was rolling in etc so tough luck now that it has come back to kick them in the teeth.
What goes around comes around.

Re: Man Utd Take Over
Just a thought the other clubs in the premiership will be shiting themselves without Man Utd in the premiership how much do they think sky will pay for tv rights if you go to the far east or china you find almost nothing but Man Utd , Real Madrid and Liverpool fans they are the teams that sell tv rights the fans may be gloating at the thought of Utd going out of business but a few chairman will be shiting themselves at the loss of income without a visit from Utd every year and tv money.
Re: Man Utd Take Over
As for domestic TV rights then I don't think they can go it alone. It takes 14 clubs to pass a motion on the Premier Leagues board so Man Utd would have to find 5 other dissenting voices and that's unlikely.
I'm not sure what the rules are for overseas TV rights so I can't commemt on that.

Re: Man Utd Take Over
I don't mean Man Utd going it alone they won't be there the club will not exist i think they will be the first club since the early 60s to sink out of sight under massive debts.
Re: Man Utd Take Over
I don't know about that.
Malcolm Glazer may well be a bit of a tosser but he has made a lot of money in his life and he hasn't got that from being stupid.
Sure he's expecting the club and fans to pay off his bank loans so he can buy the club but he has to be realistic in that for the share price to remain high then the club has to perform off the pitch (on the business side) but also on it as well and as I said he aint stupid so he'll know that.
I don't think he'll completely fuck the club up but at the same time he isn't the 2nd coming of the messiah either.
