For a so called astute businessman why does he not know that any debt could ban the club from the champions league which is the one of the clubs main source of income .

The problem stems from their flotation a number of years back - it was then that it became more of a commercial venture than a football club and like any business if a potential buyer has enough money and wants to buy it bad enough then no one and nothing can stop them. United have been being criticised even by their own fans for many years over new kits and the price of kits etc which again is due to commercialisation - I for one have no sympathy for the club or fans whatsoever, like everything in life he with the biggest wallet reigns supreme.

I never said that he was an astute business man. I said that he isn't stupid.

As for United being barred from all Uefa Competitions then I will believe that when I see it. TV companies and sponsors call the tune there and I believe that they'd insist on there participation, provided they qualify.

I'm not defending Glazer. I think he's bad for football. All I'm saying is that contrary to some of the media who are trying to portray him as some idiot then I would say that he didn't become a billionaire by being stupid.

I agree he's far from stupid thats why the debt is piled on the club not him or his family, i just cannot see the logic of his takeover there is only so much money you make in the far east, to make big money he would have to crack the us market which has been tried many times with football and always failed even the world cup could not get americans interested in footy, i know he knows his own market but americans cannot watch any game that lasts 45 mins without a hot dog break their idea of a game is american football which lasts about 12 hours but the ball is only in play for 5 mins between hot dog breaks, but i will renew my season ticket and hope im wrong.

He has bought the club at a time when most of the income has been maximised so I would think it will be ticket prices that will get hiked up to bring in more money.

He has been very crafty with the takeover. This saga of will he-won't he bid for the club has been dragging on for ages but concludes after the last home game of the season. There by giving him 3 months before the next game and plenty of time for the dust to settle and supprters to get used to the idea.

all the Man U fans seem to be worried about Glasers take over, how will he repay the money he has borrowed.... think of it this way: to borrow that kind of money he would have had to have a cast iron business plan on how he would repay the money or they wouldnt have leant hm the money in the first place. If a bank lends you ?1000 and you cant make the repayments you are in the shit, if a bank lends you ?500 million and you cant make the repayments then the bank is in the shit!
I am a chelsea fan and would be quite happy to see Man U go under, but I just cant see it happening.

Utd and the beanz.....

Post by SID THE CYNIC »

I have NO sympathy with Man U or their fans at all.

The club is big business and they have benifitted from that fact. Now that the business is starting to bite and show its true greedy finacial colours, all of a sudden they don't like it!!! Cake and eat it comes to mind! the money side of the game has been getting terrible for some time now.... what with Rio demanding ?150k a week etc. Arrogant bastard.

And those pathetic bleating fat replica top wearing shower of idiots are laughable. They complain that Mr. Mega Dollars has never been to Old Trafford. Surely!!!! Isn't that the case of the vast majority of Man U 'fans'? Or do we suppopse that all the Man U top wearing folk in China and the Middle east, where the club was hoping to expand its 'fan base', and to export vast amount of merchandice, are infact season ticket holders and travel the globe for each home game?

It is utter bollocks. Too good for tooooo long.

I really hope things go really realy bad there.

Yours as ever,

Sid

ps. I like Baked beans and don't care who owns Heinz.
I hate Man U and couldn't give a shit about them!

Glazier has just purchased the most famous, wealthiest football club ever, he paid ?800m for it, only ?275m of that was his money, it generates 20m plus profit every year, he repays interest on the loans for two years, say ?50m, then he re-sells the club for ?1b, he walks away with nearly ?200m or maybe more and life goes on! either way whatever he does with the club, if he just keeps it for 2 years, then sells it he will make a handsome profit, he,s not interested in football, just money, he may be taking a 'gamble' but it,s a very well calculated one..

Thats one of the reasons I want him to fall flat on his face. I have nothing against Man Utd personally, but when a cunt like Glazier comes along with only one intention; to make money without knowing fuck all about football, then you do wish the club mis-fortune.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've met the man on the street............and he's a cunt
