They are dull ... a few good tunes early on. Great stuff for manic depressives though. The came straight into the US top 10, first time a British band has done that since The Beatles ... but I think you only need to sell 50 singles to do that now.

The US singles chart is more to do with airplay frequency than sales - 'heavy rotation' as they say. Actually I don't think a song even needs to be available to buy to register - a good (i.e. mercenary) way of selling the album it's on then.
Coldplay's single I like a lot, and it was on course to replace Oasis at the top next week. Sadly it'll be some Crazy Frog ringtone record instead, or so I'm told. The British public, eh?

So it isn't just me then! I loved The Scientist single and a great video but that is it. No contest if you put them against Radiohead, Athlete etc.
