Total rest is a misnomer IMHO(Although I wouldn't call myself qualified;-)) because that means the muscles within will deteriorate

Your not a conductor by anychance?

Actually Buttsie, all the advice Iv,e been given does point to total rest, for a while, but it,s not allways possible for any of us, GP pointed out that if you have a small op to cure it completely, you are basically in traction anyway for at least 3 weeks, couldn,t be at a worse time for me, I reckon I,ll just plod on with it till Sept, then surgery may well be the route to go, Iv,e had it on and off for a good while, but ta for the theory...

Its a night mare, have had it now for about 7 months, tried it all: massage, ultrasound, acupuncture, and as a last resort the cortozone jab, (boy did that sting), still no joy.

I find that it feels a lot better after giving it a rest, looks like the plaster cast is the only sure way of clearing it up.

good luck.

Cheers dave, if you have had it you will know what a nightmare it is, resting it is probably the best option, but when you earn your living as I do it,s difficult, as it,s a repetative injury, it has really got me down the past few days, I,m not usually a grumbling bastard......well Ok I am but.....

Thats why I included the "Unqualified disclaimer" and when you compare my 2 posts you can see they contradict each other in relation to rest. All summed up by R.I.C.E...rest,ice,compression,elevation

In one of my mens health books(that I've bought not written ;-)) theres an exercise called the elbow relief stretch, described word for word on this site along with a shedload of other useful info regarding tendon & ligament injuries plus the best & worst drugs to take

cheers
