Either the broadcast wasn't delayed, or nobody was paying attention when Snoop Dogg and Madonna swore.

Floyd were great

Post by Ned »

I didn't see much else. Pete Doherty proving once again how little talent he has, Sting and his ego (why didn't he reform The Police for the day instead of boring us all to death with his backing band?) Mariah Carey's tits, Robbie Williams made an arse of himself.

Peter Kaye surprised me by showing he can't ad-lib comedy to save his life and then we had The Who. They sounded ok and did a good job, but I was bored by them. They seemed to last longer than anyone else, but God they were dull.

Floyd blew that lot off the stage.

see now, im fairly new to all the older rock bands like The Who and floyd, being more of an early 90s man really. but i dont see how u can call The Who dull....i didnt really know the songs they performed before, and they werent exactly catchy compared to my generation, pinbal wizard etc but the performance was pretty spot on for a band missing half of its original (and noticeable) members....townshends guitar sounded great....the band that invented punk?...seems so.....

Rock roots

Hard to imagine a more bluesy-influenced piece than the guitar at the start of Wish You Were Here. Utterly superb.

Yes, he would

He's a boring old fart with an ego the size of Australia, but it would have been good to see The Police play for one last time.
