Tough one, a whole lot of amazing stuff to choose from. I've always adored "Sweet Thing" from Diamond Dogs and "Strangers When We Meet" from the criminally overlooked masterpiece that is "Outside."

Time, Under Pressure, Blue Jean, Black Tie White Noise, Modern Love, Aladdin Sane, I'm Afraid Of Americans, Diamond Dogs, Moonage Daydream, Heroes, Dead Man Walking, Time Will Crawl, Loving The Alien, Fashion, Ashes To Ashes, Joe The Lion, Subterraneans, Warszawa, TVC15, Win, Life On Mars, Quicksand, Rebel Rebel, Watch That Man, Ziggy Stardust....how long have you got?

Bowie is different class.

It's funny you should mention that Steve, as I have it on in the background and heard his voice just as I read your post.
I would never have known otherwise.

The Laughing Gnome. LOL

Only joking...let's see....Life On Mars, The Bewley Bros, The Man Who Sold The World, Queen Bitch, Rock n' Roll Suicide, Starman, Prettiest Star, ALL of Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Win, Station To Station, Wild Is The Wind, Speed Of Life, Be My Wife, Always Crashing In The Same Car, Heroes.....and more up to date...Thursday's Child, which I thought was the best thing he's written in twenty years.......

BUT....and here's the rub....i'm forced to agree with you Steve...LOL....my all time favourite Bowie track is also Lady Grinning Soul from Aladin Sane....one of the most beautiful love songs i've ever heard.

Oh, and if you want a bit of trivia...LGS was inspired by the same woman who inspired the Stone's song Brown Sugar....little known soul singer, Claudia Lennear. Oh, and he's never performed it live. :)

Bowie was excellent up till 1975.
My favourite memories were playing Time from Aladin Sane and rushing to turn the volume down with the line 'Falls wanking to the floor' incase my parents heard it and went ballistic
The b side of Life on Mars had similar dittys with 'she pisses when I cry' line and the 'whores of Amsterdam'
Personal faves are Suffregete City. Cracked Actor and Panic in Detroit
Actually, the BEST Bowie tracks have the much missed Mick Ronson on guitar. BLINDING Guitarist.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've met the man on the street............and he's a cunt
