His views are typical of the sort of journo whos ambition it is to work for the Daily Mail. If they are not campaigning for stuff to be banned then they are ranting on about asylum seekers and single mothers. Sad man.

If he spat in my food for smoking in a restaraunt it would be the last thing the silly-haired tosser ever did.

I'd let Baise Moi's star Karen Bach (aka Lancaume) spit in my food anyday

Having seen Baise-moi, I'd say from the porn angle, watch Raffaella/Lancaume's genre output instead. If you want cartoon-violence, watch Reservoir Dogs.
Like Thelma & Louise before it, all this film proves is that women can be just as shallow, asinine, mindlessly violent and gullible as men.
If there was some sort of catharsis, yes, but the protagonists are as emotionally dead at the end as they wee at the start. Maybe that's the point. If there IS one......it's not erotic (not that it's supposed to be), and it adds nothing new to knowledge of the Human condition, so it's doubly a failure.

critics of about every hue seem to agree that it's a lousy film in just about every respect but i wonder how honest walker and tookey would be in their appraisal of a similarly explicit film, if it was of real artistic merit?

i would put 'ai no corrida' and 'last tango in paris' in that bracket - taboo busting productions, wrought by individuals with a unique sensibility/vision. brando's performance in 'ltip' is one of the greatest in cinematic history, imo.

the problem i have with the two tweedles is that their ire seems to result from a visceral puritanism, rather than any sophisticated moral objection. walkers use of language in his baise-moi review says it all.

I agree. Even if it had been a worthy film such as LTIP they would still want it banned. He is dishonest as a critic because he is not concerned with the film as a whole. He allows his own hang-ups about sex to blind him to the other aspects of the production. A phenomom ..er a thing we see all too often in this repressed nation of ours.

my response is quite simple if the title is

"Rape Me" it shouldn't be banned

Those that condone rape in your own time not in public.
For the actresses/performers who do it so be it.
But be aware that such a provocactive title and film no doubt will lead to copycat circumstances.

the title should be changed to "Fuck me"

end of story
