Incidentally, I was somewhat piqued by the success of this work - particularly as a piece I penned personally, The Penis Preambles, performed pitifully poorly in the provinces.
It flopped.

Indeed, Jacques.
However the main problem was one of casting.
The work involved just two characters - male and female.
Now whereas the man gave a somewhat stiff and wooden performance - not what one normally looks for in an actor, but entirely appropriate for this role - the woman simply dried up.
We really needed an actress of the calibre of Helen Mirren, for example, who would have grasped the part with both hands and milked it for all it was worth.
