CSI tonight

Post by Ace »

Its the double episode directed by Tarantino..........and its excellent. Well worth setting the video for!!
Channel 5 can be ridiculed MOST of the time, but with this, and the new series of The Shield (starring the excellent Michael 'The Thing' Chiklis) starting this saturday, they can be relied upon..........sometimes

Didn't Tarantino direct an episode of E.R. or did I dream it?

Yes he did!

Not forgetting Channel 5 were the first to show the new off-shot CSI:NY which I though was another excellent spin off!

I prefer CSI Miami over the two, but great series nevertheless
Regarding Quentins ER direction, they used the equivilant of 3 episodes blood supply for his episode. He does like 'em squelchy!!

I'm an avid fan of all the CSI series.... I just hope to God they don't let him near another one!

He obviously had a list of things he'd done in all his films and one by one ticked them off as he included them in this... unfortunately most of them didn't work... the monologues, the music.... just crap!

sadly, i have to agree. this amounted to nothing more than an over-inflated vanity project, substandard even when compared to a 'run-of-the-mill' episode.

none of the trademark humour was present (the b&w interlude was clunking) and, as you point out, the musical motifs were as predictable as the utterly unavoidable ending.

more tellingly, perhaps, the words coming out of the characters mouths just didn't chime with what we've learnt about them over the past five years.

it really was pretty awful. bad enough to be miami or ny, in fact!

My main impression of tonight's double whammy.... QT had never watched an episode in his life... absolutely right about the dialogue not matching the characters.

Sadly I got to agree with you all on this one.
A good episode BUT not a good CSI episode imho.
It did have it's moments though.
I just wonder if QT style would be more suited to say CSI:NY as it's more grittier looking.

But then again all the CSI's are shot differently when viewed as per their location:
CSI:LV - all bright, glamour and very "Vegas"
CSI:Miami - very colourful & full of sunshine
CSI:NY - grey

Roll on the new series of all 3...
