The Shield

Post by Ace »

Following on from The CSI thread, just a reminder to set yer videos for saturday night on Channel 5 for Series 4 of the excellent series, The Shield.
Glenn Close (Bunny boiler in Fatal Attraction) is the new 'boss'. The ever dependable Michael Chiklis who stars as The Thing in the Fantastic 4 film is the best bad cop on TV, he is bad to the bone, yet you cheer him on cleaning the shit from his 'manor'

I don't watch much tv for being busy with editing and such but I had to buy The Shield on dvd. What agreat show. Does anyone have any info when season 3 is coming on dvd?

Classic rewind moment when Vic is chasing a bad guy down the narrow alleyways as the perp leaps over the fence, what does Vic do? He runs through the fuckin fence...classic stuff!

I can't watch the series on tv Ace, it frustrates me having to wait a week for the next episode. I've gotta own them and watch them all when i want to.

or even worse

The TV networks use certain serial shows as a filler in between Major Sporting Events. You never see the daily 'hour of god' shows at 6.00am being used & abused in this way

Adverts i can take but random programming is the pits

Series 3 is out on NTSC version now, so the PAL version will be out mid-August. I won't be a cheap bastard waiting for Asda to stock it at ?19.99 either!!

NTSC version has been around since Feb 2005, some wag is selling PAL version on ebay at ?19.99, but I suspect they are pirated copies.

Series 3 just finished last night on FX...just in time for Ch 5 to start series 4 on Saturday.

Im so glad that this has been mentioned on here,i picked up the first season last year from HMV when it was in the sale,i thought 20 quid even if its shit what have i lost?

Watched the first episode and had to watch the next straight away then the next and the next and on and on....ended up finishing season 1 in 48 hours.
Next day season 2 etc...

Was watching season 3 on fx but gave up after 2 episodes and imported the US discs.

Cheated slightly on season 4,ebay!!

Am looking at picking up "The Wire" when it comes down in price...?35's still a tad expensive!!

I missed Season 1 of "The Shield" when it was first shown on Channel 5, but have been hooked ever since.

Superb acting and great storylines - I was sad enough to sit and watch the Season 1 & 2 DVDs over 4 days!!

Scott Brazil (who worked on "Hill Street Blues") directs some of the episodes and I'm sure that some of the style of that series has been used in The Shield.
