In the second season episode 'Wolf in the Fold' (spot the geek) Scotty claimed twice to be an Aberdonian. I'm sorry but I'm an Aberdonian and if Scotty came from Aberdeen then my name's Mr Spock!!

He was a shit hot engineer though and once got the Enterprise from warp 0 to 14 in 6 seconds....

(Actually it was warp 14.1 which the Enterprise can only maintain for 5 seconds before blowing up)

As a tribute to the man I'm off to put on my Klingon suit and read my Starfleet technical manual!

Jock the sad bastard.

Doohan claimed he served during the war with someone from Aberdeen, and took the voice from him. Certainly nothing like any citizen of "Furry Boot City" (copyright Ian Rankin) that I've ever heard.

Serves me right for not reading posts about "not obscure drummers".
But obviously I wasn't the only one.
