Ignoring the stuff about sarcasm which is best dropped, I meant that it is impossible to explain each abbreviation used on each page it is used - too much work. To the likely response that these should be explained in the FAQ or in a footnote, experience shows that people would still ask on the forum without reading FAQ or footnote. Even if an abbreviation was explained on the same page as it was used, many people would still not notice it. So we will just have to put up with 'silly' questions and the 'silly questioners' will just have to put up with the occasional bit of slightly bad temper - and make allowances for all the rubbish moderators have to read, some of which is removed before most people read it.
