For what it's worth, BB, I believe that anyone caught creating a virus, or knowingly sending one, should have their hands strapped down and a rock hammer used to break every bone within them.

But I'm a liberal.

The sure sign of a hate filled individual

I've had my share of intolerant individuals who didn't agree with something I've said and could only get back at me through childish acts of stupidity

All can do is pray that all that hate consumes them very soon

Cancer of the Knob wouldn't be asking too much given that the Brains most likely already on the way out

cheers

Decode the header details to find there IP addy and then give them the 'Ping-of-Death'

Gives some satisfaction that you can make their pc reboot at will and there isn't a thing they can do to stop you.

I suppose you are getting the virus in spam e-mails.

Does anyone here use NTL ?

About three weeks ago, they introduced some new anti-spam software.

I was getting about 30 - 40 spam e-mails a day, after they introduced this new software it was down to perhaps 1 or 2 a day, some days none at all.

Well done NTL - not often I get to say that.Brother Blue wrote:

Gentlemen and ladies of this beloved forum, why don't you use one of those virus scanner thing-ah-me-doo-dahs software and stop leaving yourself open to attack.

You send an ilegal packet of information to the IP addy using the PING funtion in the Operating System, which causes a buffer overrun and so reboots the target system.

The maximum 'dos' length of a 'ping' is 65535 bytes. You can send bigger packet using various methods.

And because the 'ping' is of an illegal size, windows throws a wobbly.

Well I'm sure this post has done nothing but outrage the sad individual and make you an even bigger target. I have to go with OEJ and this one and wonder why a web master would not protect himself with a scanner
