curious, I know an armed copper and he's totally like that too, power tripper dickhead, he left the armed unit to become a dog handler - just a different weapon!
the other coppers I know don't want anything to do with guns

I remember the days when this forum was an escape from police-supporting gun ho lunatics. the dibble stopped me the other night, asked why I was out and about at 5am. didn;t believe i was walking home from a party and said i might get mugged, i told them id get fucking mugged if they didnt leave me alone to get home. obviously no criminals to catch round my way...

C'mon fellas, bad cops are like racists and terrorists. A handful of bad ones spoil it for the majority of them. Lets not generalise that the police force is all that bad. its no different to the rest of the world. Theres more good than bad going on in this world. More than you'd believe and I say this with my rose coloured specs off. Now all together, sing with me:

"...And I say to mah seeeelf, what a wonderful worl" C'mon sing with me.

" What-a-wonder-full, world"

Yo Nobby! What!? No come back!? You agree with me then? Yes? No? I sense the decency in you. Maybe your emotions over took you. This I understand. Do the right thing. Think before you speak. It is very easy to offend certain sensibilities here. We are not all cut from the same cloth.

White British Muslims...

Post by JackHorny »

On my travels to, around and from London I have seen many... on the train from Kings Cross recently I was sat across the aisle from 4 girls who were quite clearly White English girls... every 10 minutes they were in their bags whipping out their Koran which was sheathed in a box type cover.. they'd read it for 30 seconds or so, kisssit and re-sheath it and put it back in their bag... 10 minutes later they'd repeat the ritual...

Now I don't consider myslef at all anti-religoious but I honestly found this activity un-nerving and disturbing... it just seemed obsessive and unnatural...

But as the ever observant Terry says ina roundabout way - YOU CANNOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER... but that said, I will always support the man (or woman) on the ground... they're making a big deal about this "why did it take so long to apprehend this fella" - I'll tell ya why... it cos of the red tape and the procedures... the firemarms team following the unfortunate victim were probbaly screaming for a decision one way or another from those sat in some remote comman centre and they're sat their umming and ahhing over the finer detail of what to do... its a tragic and unfortunate event from which lessons will be learnt but if the firearms team can hand on heart say they'd do what they did AGAIN, you have to back them... they're the ones on the ground charged with a massive responsibility... I dont think they give that sort of responsibility out lightly... I still support them for what they did.
I retired when I sadly realised nobody wanted me!

While the rest of us wait to find out how it happened you already know the full details, you must have been there and witnessed it all so I bow to your first hand knowledge.

Wasn't it the Brazilian government that used to turn a blind eye to the 'death squads' who used to deal with their street urchin problem? I don't think the Metropolitan Police require any lessons from them on how to police london.

No I wasn't there.... but unlike you I don't have The Sun as my only news source. I also have a tendancy NOT to believe anything a policeman tells me!

Unlike you I haven't made out that I know exactly how the incident happened and as for your foolish statement about not believing anything a policeman tells you, what will you do if you are mugged or burgled? call your Mum.

Put the LOGIC chip in your head before you post. What has my not believeing what a copper tells me have to do with what I'd do if I got burgled, etc.?

Your inability to think for yourself has obviously led you to believe the original statement made by Sir ian Blair and disregard all the stories that have been coming out since, including the recently leaked witness statements.

You were very quick to support the killing of Mr de Menezes, based purely on the first police statement. While the Met have been busy down at B&Q stocking up on tins of whitewash you have rigidly carried on believing the first story even as others of us were questioning the Met's version of events.

You just don't like those of us who actually bother to use our brains to turn around and say "I told you so!"
