Listen to this .... takes a wait of a few seconds before the free d/l starts.
It's very funny and explains from a black perspective the difference between black people and niggas. And it's ok, because Chris Rock is black.

Abstract Recent theorising on the nature of racism suggests that over the last few decades it has come to be expressed in more subtle and ambiguous ways because while many Whites proclaim egalitarian values, their cognitions and behaviour are influenced by prejudices that are buried deep in their psyche. This leads to the possibility that those who perpetrate and those who experience racism may have different interpretations of events that involve racism.

Don't these sorts of terms go in cycles anyway. Its not so long ago that queer was seen as offensive and gay was the approved word. But then queer became not just accepted but fashionable.

Cyclical or not, it doesn't make moderating any easier.
If Terry found Heathray's post offensive - i.e. objectionable in a racist context - then we would remove it. But as he seems not too, we won't. The problems start to arise when the extensive grey area surrounding this sort of argot is subtly manipulated to a trollish end.
Given Heathray's history of making obnoxious references about models, it would not be unreasonable to deduce a negative intent from his use of modish racial slang, rather than anything streetwise/satirical. This time he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Hang on I was crediting this guy for being stylish and a wonderful businessman. Don't like his music but to start from scratch and build an empire is pretty damned impressive, a la Branson and Berry Gordy.
