Go back and read my posts genius, where have I repeated anything that might have come from the Sun or the Met? my original post did not say how it happened just that it is easy for people like you to condemn the police. It is you who are stating what happened, where did you get your information from then, as you admitted you weren't there. How come your sources are reliable and other peoples must be lies, or is it the fact that as you have the ability to think you just believe the supposed leaked documents as they suit your point of view.
My point on burgalry etc is that the likes of you who slag off the police eg they are all liars (that is what you said) soon want them when you've got a problem and forget about your dislike of them.
It will not be long before your ilk start shouting about the human rights of those arrested for the failed bombings and they are probably innocent as the police fitted them up.

Re: White British Muslims...
"Now I don't consider myslef at all anti-religious but I honestly found this activity un-nerving and disturbing... it just seemed obsessive and unnatural..."
Yeah, there are some right divis about nowadays. I'm afraid I'm not very sympathetic to all this religious hocus-pocus.

I agree with you there Terry, I think we tend to overestimate just how bad the world is...99% of people are still decent, no matter how much the 24 hour media, and hysterisal reactions of others magnify the other 1% out of all proportion. It is a wonderful world...ask the Irish lass who won 79 million on the lottery

Looks like Hypocrisy of the highest order down to Political Intervention,no doubt to keep fact that there is a shoot to kill policy in effect IMHO
Once again the Politicians have tried to keep the public in the dark
Wether the Police over reacted/panicked or were following a strict zero tolerance Policy we will never know
In the current atmosphere of another bombing, who could blame them, either way
As was said above they are only humans
Damned if they don't,damned if they do
What a career,no thanks
cheers

Someone said to me yesterday...
... "in a way, I'm glad it happened - it's comforting to know that the Police are actually prepared to take action"...
Despite the fact that on the face of it, its a rather distasteful comment in the circumstances, I can see what he is driving at. however, casting the distasteful element aside, I think its a terribly BAD thing... all this has served to do, in my opinion, is a) make the Police look even WORSE; b) it'll make them think twice and perhaps even dangerously hesitant next time for fear of making a similar mistake and c) the terrorists out there will know that they can capitalise on this hesitancy...

I retired when I sadly realised nobody wanted me!

Its comforting to know the police will make terrible mistakes then lie and lie and lie to cover up.

I have some sympathy for them. After all if they blatnalty told the truth...no sorry we shot the wrong fella, unarmed without warning, eight times in the head, because he looked a bit 'brown' (allegedly) London would shut down, everyone would be too terrified to come. Tourisms suffered majorly already. That's a big victim for the terrorists. I don't think the police should lie of course, but I can see why maybe it wasn't motivated purely by self interest if they did..may have been orders from 'up high'.

The only people who will gain out of this are the lawyers yes his family will receive compensation and I imagine considerably more than the victims of the 7/7 families but it will not bring their son back.I find it sad that the most talked about name since 7th July is the name of a man who was tragically killed by mistake by the Police. In no way am I belittling him but getting your son killed by the Police is no harder on you than having your son, daughter, brother sister blown to pieces by murdering scum with bombs.Im afraid there has been an over reaction with regards to this incident and will lead to morale being sapped amongst rank and file police and cause the Met to take their eye off the ball at such a critical time.I also find it hypocritcal of Brazilian authorites to be chipping in with condemnation of the Met when it is common for street children in their big cities to be rounded up and executed by the police.
