Well the destruction of the Tories as such & Labour gaining control. Funny though because if it was around today then they'd be doing the same for Labour as they did for the Tory party during the 80's & 90's.... wonder what they'd do with Two Jags....

Bear in mind that, awful though that song was, they were ripping the pish out of Black Lace (or "those two wet gits with their girly, curly hair").
Also loved the Major You'll Never Walk Alone song.

what about diana sacking the duke;
Re: spitting image.[vhs]
indeed
I taped every episode from 1990 til the end (1996) and it still stands up today. The last few had Blair and his shadow cabinet clones down to a tee (Jack Straw feeding him grapes etc etc), but what they did with Major and his anonymous cabinet as well as Kinnock & co was excellent. Yes, sometimes it was a bit and miss but more often than not it was hillarious and often delightfully below-the-belt.
"Have I Got News For You" remains excellent satire but I feel that especially in these piss-taking times, the full bite of Spitting Image is sorely missed - what they would have made of Bliar in his full pomp one can only imagine...

Bliar is such a muppet it would be almost impossible to create a caricature that was more outrageous than the original.
Another classic, Thatcher's privatisation theme to the tune of Jerusalem:
"I shall not turn from this great course
No matter how insane it seems,
Till we have built Jerusalem
And made it look like Milton Keynes."
