And I always thought Simon liked "desperate porn stars"....

Or he at least gets Max Clifford to pay them to tell the papers they've had sex with him.

I wouldn't think Michelle is desperate.

I haven't seen her audition yet (it's on in about 10 minutes, trust the bastards to keep the one part I want to see till right at the end), but I feel I have to post my opinion here anyway. Simon Cowell is a prick. As far as I know, and as a rule I don't watch or listen to anything associated with him, on his TV shows he finds the people who have any talent at singing AND who will just be so pleased for a chance that they won't make a big deal out of it when he shafts them (in the figurative sense that is). He generates publicity for his show by making sure he slags off anyone who doesn't fit the above criteria, and making sure his most stinging remarks make it onto the show. He then gets the public to decide on a winner, using premium rate phone numbers so the voters get to pay for the privilige, out of the people he's chosen that fit the above mentioned criteria, so he guarantees their popularity, then he get's them to do an album full of covers, with a single release or maybe even 2 from the album, before kicking them to the curb. He then repeats the process the next year.
He's the person most centrally responsible for turning the music industry into the steaming pile of shit that it is today. There are more acts that just sing and less songwriters/bands (a band being a group of people who can actually play instruments and as a result supply their own music, not a bunch of ponces who dance a bit and lipsync) now than ever. Real musical talent is ignored while manufactured eyecandy be shovelled down our throats.
Let's look at his past acts shall we:
Zig and Zag
Mr Blobby
The Teletubbies
Five
Will Young
Gareth Gates

Where are they now, eh? Not a John Lennon or a Freddie Mercury, not even a Phil Collins, among them.

i thought she did pretty well. started shaky but picked it up nicely. maybe an easier song next time though, ' i will always love you' was always going to be a hard ask - unless she tries the dolly parton version
