What is the file format used by audio CDs? I've downloaded some files as mp3 and am about to burn them to CD. But how do I make sure that they will then play on my stand-alone CD player (which I know doesn't play mp3)?
My burning software doesn't seem to tell me what choices to make, if any.

Burning CDs - "stupid" question.
Re: Burning CDs - "stupid" question.
Thanks. Is that what Audio disk means? That sounds stupid I know. I was making the assumption that it was an all inclusive term that could also mean mp3.
I'm using Hotburn that comes with Iomega hardware.

Just incase you have this sort of problem once you have recorded.-
I found that if I recorded (burned) to a CD-RW I was only able to play it in the device I recorded it in and my cars CD player. It would not work in all other HI FI / portable players.
I tried recording to a CD-R and that worked everywhere.
(CD-RW are reusable and CD-R is for once only recording)

Thanks for that.
I recorded to a -R having read that -RW can be a problem on other players.

Yes, that's what audio disk means. A disc of mp3 files is actually a data disk containing mp3 files.
