yes Bulgaria is a great place to buy a place, but be a bit careful, I was close to buying somewhere but waited until the boss did first to see how it worked out.

you can get a place for 7K but it will be in the middle of the sticks and need renovating. In reality if you want anywhere good you will need to pay between 30-50k and you will need to set up a bulgarian business account to be able to pay for it and you will need to work with a bulgarian lawyer and an interpreter (by law) to sign all the paperwork.

maybe five years ago it was a goldmine, now the prices are going up quick as it gears up to join the EU. If you are going to buy as an investment there are probably better places to think of at the moment (Slovenia) but as a second home it really is a beautiful place

we are Leeds.... , and we can still beat the mighty Chester

Watch out for those Bulgars. Dont drop your soap in the communal showers.

Tell that to Michael Shields and his family and I'd bet that they'd say that it doesn't rock.

Don't get on your high horse. I was just pointing out that it may not rock for everybody.

I know nothing about Bulgaria. It could be a great place or it may not. I wouldn't know as I've never been there.

At one time I seriously considered moving to Greece. I'm hopeless/lazy at learning another language and I just couldn't imagine living somewhere without access to books/libraries.
