And what exactly do you do to get an income to pay for anything in this scheme ?

I'm not pointing the finger at you, Tarquin, and I don't know anything about Bulgaria---except roughly where it is.

But it's odd that on a forum where people complain about this country, with its ethnic diversity and many cultures, and some parts of the population that find it hard to become at one with the national identity, that someone can talk about going to another country and being part of an English enclave and not having to learn the language.

What exactly makes this acceptable for us when going abroad, but unacceptable for others coming here?

Just wondering, that's all.

Have been there twice in the last few years.
Went to Nesebar on the Black Sea - beautiful. Also to Plovdiv, which was unreal in terms of history but again very beautiful.

No different to a British Barbadian - both parents from Barbados, he was born here. He rang into a talk show yesterday to say it was about time UK should be open to any nationals who wanted to contribute to society and he was sick of racism in this country ... then finished by saying he had just renewed his Barbadian citizenship and extolled the values of the island from basically preventing any foreigner (unless rich or ethnic Barbadian) going to live or work there. The only thought that went through my mind was "what a cunt" - he wants one set of PC rules here, but is happy for Barbados to operate racist/discriminatory policies because he happens to be eligible for favourable status by virtue of his parents birth place.
