Michelle Thorn on X Factor

Sad but somewhat unsuprising.
She may be a consummate professional in this business but am I alone in finding her unappealing? The antithesis of erotic, plastic yet wooden, it wasn't a shock to hear she was going to be on X Factor with all the other cabaret wanna-be's. Ambition when coupled with genuine talent (displayed by proper stars) is to be admired, the kind of amition shown by Ms Thorne and far too many other charisma-free muppets is just sad... The ability to merely carry a tune should not mean you can be a pop star, these people have no real talent and are too busy chasing the fame to master anything. Cowell uses them up and spits them out, and as much as I hate the crap he signs up (all of it) he gives the idiot public what they want - he knows the public are stupid, he knows the records he makes are crap, and it's clear to me what disregard he shows to the minnions that are lining his pockets buying the latest MOR dirge put out by the latest winner of one these shows - and in that respect he has it spot on.

I'm not going to beat around the bush, Simon Cowell is a totally amazing man.

The way he totally zings no talented mongs and ruining their hopes and dreams is just out of this world.

That man is totally awesome.

What gets me, seeing The X-Factor for the first time ever is: Who the fuck told some of these people they can sing???? I understand the concept totally why this is a popular show. It amounts to realistic comedy watching some of these people that look totally terrifying not to say unattractive at the very least caterwauling and screeching- I was in howls of laughter amidst crying in sadness at the patheticness of some of it. Michelle, without a doubt deserved to get through on several counts. I thought her singing belies her talent but lord have mercy, I can see why that show is popular on a saturday evening now and why it is televised. Real people make the best programmes...and its cheap too.

Personally i dont think she was that good to be honest. Maybe it was the tune (its a very hard one to sing, apparently), she was ok, but not great. I think she got through because she does porn. Pure n simple. It pulls in viewing figures. Its all a set up, the whole thing.

Maybe with some training etc she could be good, but lets be honest...She wont win. ITV will get ripped to pieces if they let a porn girl win.....Remember, these pop idols are what our 12 year old girls aspire to be.
